Butter Grog

4 cups apple cider
4 tsp butter
6 tbsp sugar
8 whole cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
1 Lemon or orange peel
Rum

In a 2 quart pot mix apple cider, lemon peel, and sugar. Heat on low until the sugar is dissolved. In a mug put 1tsp of butter, 2 whole cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, and rum to taste. In the same mug add hot cider/sugar mix and steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Skim cloves and lemon peel, remove cinnamon stick, and serve.

This is an extraordinarily rich beverage, and will no doubt contribute to the weal of your “winter coat”! Prost!
